DIY Christmas: Felt Food - Packaging

I have a friend that says "Presentation is Everything."  She's usually talking about dinner, but I felt the same way about packaging up my felt food!  

Each item got packaged by itself, with a cute label saying what was in it (just in case you can't figure out that those yellow things are suppose to be ears of corn!)

I then wrapped all of these individually, because what 3.5 year old doesn't LOVE ripping open presents?

DIY Christmas: Felt Food - Cooking Apron

This is the last little thing that got made for the BBQ grill cooking Christmas present.  A child sized apron, of course!  What chef would be complete with out one of these?!

There is a strap to go around the waist, with a velcro closure...

And elastic around the neck...

I just love the Care Bears :)

DIY Christmas: Felt Food - Baked Potatoes

I've know for a while that I was going to make baked potatoes...since seeing this post on Lier's website.  (Make sure you check out all her amazing felt creations!!)

The hardest part of this was getting ahold of panty hose!  I had to ask my mom for a couple of old pairs (she wears the sock kind) and then wait for her to wear a couple out!

I made two potatoes for each child, totaling four.  It took an hour and a half?  No problem!

DIY Christmas: Felt Food - Hot Dog

 Fully Loaded Hot Dog! 

How do you take yours?  

Grillin' up a hot dog and a hamburger...

You know the hot dog is ready when there's blackened grill marks...

Don't forget to toast the buns...but not too much!  Nobody likes crunchy buns!

You've got your mustard and ketchup (Heinz is my FAVORITE brand, btw!)

Relish and diced onions, of course!

Christmas Thank You Cards for Kids

I realize that at 1.5 years old, my daughter is too young to understand Thank You.  Certainly too young to understand that when you receive gifts, you should thank the giver either in person or by sending a thank you card.  

Since we live so far away from all our family and friends (except Auntie Poo), all gifts were received by mail and thus I'm sending Thank You cards.  These cards were easy enough that I could fill in the gift-givers name, the gift and my daughter's name.  It's not meant to be a "proper" thank you card - just a really cute one for really young children!

I used an ink pad to add a little thumb print to the top of the hat...Maureen's signature!

 I made this big enough to fit in a letter envelope (just over 4 inches wide).  If you'd like a copy, just follow the link (will open in google docs).

DIY Christmas: Felt Food - Hamburger

Here's the Hamburger and ALL it's toppings!

The hamburger bun has little sesame seeds made from french knots.

Lettuce leaf has some veins!

I love the tomato seeds!

No hamburger would be complete without ketchup and mustard (personally, I'll skip the mustard, but take triple heapings of ketchup!!)

American and Swiss cheese, if you can't make up your mind.

three little pickle slices, for those of you that prefer...

don't forget the big slice of red onion!

That's one big burger!!!
